The 2016 WhiskyFest at San Francisco Marriott Marguis hotel in San Francisco, California is just around the corner. It will take place on September 23, 2016. The 2016 WhiskyFest is not only a great opportunity to taste and sample more than 350 fantastic whiskies from around the world but you get to meet the movers and shakers of the whisk(e)y industry. Some of the whisk(e)y brands you can taste are 1792 Bourbon, Arbeg, Balblair, Bird Dog, Bowmore, Connemara, Fifty Pounds, Four Roses, GlenGlassaugh, Teeling Whiskey, Highland Park, J.P. Wiser’s, Kilbeggan, Laphroaig, The Macallan, Nikka, Rebel Yell, Stranahan’s, Tomatin, Tyrconnell, Westland, Sazerac Jameson, Kavalan, Yamasaki, Usquaebach, Alberta Rye, The Balvenie, E.H. Taylor, Glenmorangie, Hibiki and a host of other whiskies. If for some reason you are not a whisk(e)y connoisseur there is also a selection of high-quality rums, cognac, beer and other spirits to wet your taste buds.
You can partake of the whisky seminars that will be presented by master distillers, blenders and other experts in the whisk(e)y industry such as David Blackmore who is the Global Brand Ambassador for the San Francisco and New York Glenmorangie offices. David Perkins, High West Distillery Founder will impart some words of wisdom to all whiskey aficionados at the WhiskyFest gathering. You may even see other whisk(e)y personalities who grace the pages of Whisky Advocate such as Mr. John Hansell, Lew Bryson, Jonny McCormick or even David Wondrich. Apart from the presenters and speakers of the 2016 WhiskyFest, you can also enjoy a gourmet buffet and give yourself a chance to do some whisk(e)y pairings with the great food on the buffet.
As far as tickets go, you can visit WhiskyFest.com or call 800-514-3849. The ticket price is $275.00 which is an excellent price considering you would have more than 350 whiskies to taste and sample. So, if you take $275 and divide it by 350 you are roughly looking at approximately $0.78 for a measure of whiskey. This is extremely good value for 350 plus whiskies. WhiskyFest.com and Whiskey Advocate http://bit.ly/2b3fjax will also have additional information on the upcoming WhiskyFest so checkout the site and see what information is being passed on. It will be a great pleasure for the management of Lovers of Whisky to be in attendance since this will be our first WhiskyFest sponsored by Whisky Advocate and we look forward to providing details and insight in our blog for our LoversofWhisky fans.
