The 1792 Barrel Select Bourbon Whiskey made its first impression at the Whiskey Revival at the Golden Nugget Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Whiskey Festival
The Ridgemont Reserve 1792 Barrel Select Bourbon is a very smooth whiskey. The bourbon has a slightly spicy/peppery bite and caramel-toffee sweetness to the taste. The Barton Distillery makes and bottles 1792 Barrel Select bourbon in Bardstown, KY.
The whiskey has won several awards and is the official toasting bourbon of the Kentucky Bourbon Festival. You might want to mark your calendars to attend the Kentucky Bourbon Festival scheduled for September 15-20, 2015, in Bardstown, KY.
Due to the whiskey festival, I purchased a bottle of the 1792 Barrel Select bourbon whiskey a week later. The whiskey was a great experiment for the master blender since it has a lovely creaminess that helps balance the spicy notes.
The 1792 Small Batch bourbon is complex in both aroma and flavor. I’m curious to try a cigar with this whiskey, but since it has a complex rye flavor.
Cigar suggestions
In addition, the 1792 barrel select bourbon has a sweet/spicy palate. The palate can be enhanced or tone-down with cigars. I suggested a few cigars to pair with the bourbon.
I have to try a mild to probably medium-bodied cigar similar to either Macanudo Gold Label, Romeo Y Julieta Reserva Real, Montecristo Classic, Alec Bradley American Classic, or Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 Connecticut.

Well, whichever cigar I decided to pair with the 1792 Bourbon whisky, it would be an exciting experience.
The tasting notes were accomplished during a recent “nosing” session while researching the 1792 Bourbon whiskey.
1792 Tasting Notes
Nose: Sweet caramel with evidence of toffee, the flavor of pumpkin pie types of spices runs over the tongue; a rich rye flavor profile as well as vanilla
Palate/Taste: A slight sherry or fruity smoothness is apparent; creamy honey flavor, rye, and vanilla-like flavor; spicy-peppery flavor balanced out by the creamy sweetness
Finish: Rich, velvety flavor coats the tongue and lingers.
In conclusion, the 1792 Barrel Select Bourbon whiskey is a bourbon with which to convince Scotch drinkers. The palate is appealing which complements a number of cigars.
