Hello. Tonight we have the 1792 Ridgemont Reserve Barrel Select Bourbon paired with an Alex Bradley American Classic Blend cigar. The pairing of these 2 starts off extremely well balanced. The cigar is a medium bodied cigar and the flavor goes exceptionally well with this 1792 bourbon.
The lit cigar was able to maintain about an inch ash length before dropping off. The 1792 Ridgemont Reserve bourbon doesn’t provide that throat gripping flavor that other bourbons have been known to do. The whiskey is very smooth and I recommend anyone who is a fan of the 1792 bourbon to give it a try with the Alex Bradley American Classic Blend cigar.
The tasting notes were accomplished during a recent “nosing” session while researching the 1792 Bourbon whiskey.
Nose: Sweet caramel with evidence of toffee, the flavor of pumpkin pie types of spices runs over the tongue; a rich rye flavor profile as well as vanilla
Palate/Taste: A slight sherry or fruity smoothness is apparent; creamy honey flavor, rye and vanilla like flavor; spicy-peppery flavor balanced out by the creamy sweetness
Finish: Rich, velvety flavor coats the tongue and lingers.
The Alex Bradley American Classic Blend cigar is about 5-1/2 inches in length. The cigar binder and filler is composed of well-matured Nicaraguan tobacco and the outer wrapper uses a Honduras Connecticut tobacco. It is an ideal cigar if you don’t have a huge amount of time. Depending upon the smoker, the smoking duration can be anywhere between 1.5 hours or more. I would recommend it as a good cigar to start with as you move up from being a novice cigar smoker progressing to medium bodied cigars.
