About Us

While I was serving with the U.S. Air Force overseas in England, I was introduced to 10 year old Glenmorangie scotch by my late father-in-law Malcolm.  When I tasted it the first time, he asked if it was “smooth” and I replied that it had a burning sensation as I swallowed it.  And he told me that I would get used to it and in time I would come to like and enjoy it.  Well I was curious about scotch and started researching (tasting and then drinking) different scotch whiskies.

During my tours of duty, I was able to taste/sample Scottish, American, Welsh, Japanese, Canadian, and Irish whiskies.  Throughout the years I found more and more countries and areas around the world distilling and producing their own whiskies and whisk(e)y products to be enjoyed in their country and by other people around the world.

I will help other lovers of whiskies to take a journey to open their minds and senses to the many ways to enjoy the different whiskies.   Apart from drinking it neat you will learn how you can enjoy it with water, within cocktails, with food, and in recipes or marinades.  You will learn of the different myths and beliefs surrounding whiskies and that the true judge of a whisk(e)y character is your own perception.

You will explore whiskies from different countries such as Scotland, Ireland, Canada, the United States, Australia, Sweden, Japan, and Europe.  You will also be provided with locations and establishments where you can sample whiskies on their own or whiskies paired for food or as cocktail ingredients.    We are also open to hearing from other whisk(e)y aficionados or lovers of whisk(e)y on locations and food pairing.  Since whiskies around the world can be very versatile, they can complement and appeal to different lifestyles of each person.   Therefore, we hope each of you will join us on our journey with Lovers of Whisky.

This took some skill and hours of work to get the process down but it was worth it in the end.
