The Buchanan Deluxe 12 YO Blended Scotch whisky is very smooth for a blend. It first came on the scene when James Buchanan and other venture makers first introduced scotch to the rest of the world.
It’s also good to note that he started his whisky label, which became well known and was eventually a known fixture of Parliament’s lower house, the House of Commons.
Mr. Buchanan started making a light-bodied whisky that was smoother, crisper, and more refined. James Buchanan used premium 12-year-old whiskies to create his exceptional whisky blend.
Due to his awards for his exceptional whisky, he could start exporting it to countries such as the United States, Canada, Germany, New Zealand etc.
Once the Buchanan Distillery opened in 1895, the growth of the distillery has continued to expand and grow to this day. The distillery has up to 4 different expressions of whiskies since 2015 and probably has surpassed the 1 million bottles sold in 2005.
The Buchanan Deluxe Blended 12 YO Scotch whiskey has a unique but smooth flavor and a slight oak taste. The oak notes are manageable in the dryness department.
Since it is a blend, the other whiskies used during the distilling and blending process helped round out the fruity and spicy flavors between them. With a price point of approximately $30.00, I was pleasantly surprised by the smoothness of the whisky.
The whisky doesn’t need any water to open up the “bouquet,” as probably expected. This is another sipping whisky to add to your collection as another “go-to” whisky for relaxing pleasure.
If you have yet to experience pouring any of Buchanan’s whisky bottles before, you will notice the pressure ball in the next bottle. While you have the bottle over your glass, you will gently shake the bottle to release the pressure on the ball.
