Crown Royal XO Canadian Whiskey is a premium whiskey from the Crown Royal family of great whiskies. I had sampled the Crown Royal Deluxe whiskey previously and it’s a good whiskey but I was very pleased with the XO expression. The whiskey was very smooth and flavorful which is due to being finished in cognac casks. You can taste the spicy, fruity notes in the neat state and flavors open up more when a drop of water is added.
The Crown Royal XO is a sipping whiskey and you can’t help but envision yourself kicking back in your leather chair and savoring the warmth of the whiskey and the fireplace. You have a roaring fire to your left and see light snowflake flurries falling from the pine trees as you gaze to your right out the frosty window panes within your log home sitting on Mount Charleston or hanging out with friends at the resort on Mt. Charleston.

The tasting notes for the Crown Royal XO with a drop of plain water is as follows –
Nose: Mild and rich with notes of toffee, caramel and sweetness like honey
Taste/Palate: Leveled with hints of spice, slightly sweet with flavor of dates, caramel and rich mouthful of honey and vanilla
Finish: Smooth sweetness of spice and creamy vanilla
