Today, we paired Pendleton whisky and Cohiba BL cigar. Pendleton Canadian whisky is a smooth, light-bodied whisky with complex flavors. The Pendleton whisky was explicitly created as an active symbol of the American cowboy and cowgirl in conjunction with their hard-working and independent nature.
Cohiba BL cigar
Firstly, the Cohiba Black Label Pequenos cigar is medium to full-bodied. Also, the cigar has a Maduro wrapper, which is dark to black with a slightly soft but oily feel.
The Pequenos are approximately 4 inches long and have a ring gauge of around 36. In addition, the Cohiba Black Label Pequenos is a premium cigar made in the Dominican Republic.
Since the Pendleton Blended Canadian whisky is a light-bodied, blended whisky and the Cohiba Black Label cigar is a medium to full-bodied cigar, the result will hopefully be a balanced pairing.
Upon the first puffs of the cigar, the Cohiba Black Label started with a bold-earthy flavor. With this in mind, the thick flavor is partly due to it being a Maduro wrapper.

Secondly, the first sip of the Pendleton whisky helps smooth out the rich, full flavor of the Cohiba BL cigar balancing the whisky and cigar. For this reason, the flavors remain consistent between the whisky and cigar. Even at the halfway point of the Cohiba Black Label cigar.
In fact, the Pendleton whisky flavors of vanilla, caramel, and toffee were responsible for taming the cigar’s robust nature. Keep in mind, everybody’s taste buds are different, so adding a couple of drops of water to the whisky helps smooth any rough notes on the tongue.

Thirdly, as I neared the end of the cigar, the flavors remained consistent between the Cohiba BL cigar and the Pendleton Whiskey. They complemented each other in flavor and smoothness.
By all means, the whisky flavors played a vital role in balancing the Cohiba’s intense array of flavorful tobacco leaves. As the closing of the cigar approaches, there was a fierce burn and harsh taste; therefore, it was time to allow the cigar to burn out on its own.
In conclusion, the Pendleton whisky and Cohiba BLcigar were well paired. The smoothness of the whisky contributed to balancing out the cigar’s robust flavor notes. Together, the whisky and cigar creates a pleasurable experience for the whisky and cigar lover.
The spirit of the Pendleton whisky cowboy or cowgirl could tame the wildness of the Cohiba BL cigar. I recommend trying the Pendleton whisky and the Cohiba BL cigar.
Please share your thoughts on how these two fared for you; we would appreciate any suggestion of cigars to pair with the Pendleton Blended Canadian whisky. So, I bid everyone a great Lovers of Whisky Day.
