The Chucktown Sunrise Cocktail was certainly a surprise to me based on the ingredients and the potency of the bourbon used. I had heard that cask strength whiskey was the preferred whiskey to use in cocktails so I decided to crack open my Cask Strength Maker’s Mark bourbon and give it a go. The cask strength bourbon provided the bite for the cocktail and you will be able to taste the whiskey with every sip of the cocktail. And since I was all out of fresh lime juice, I decided to use Rose’s Sweetened Lime Juice instead.
The extra bite in the whiskey made up for the sweetened lime juice in the cocktail. The Chucktown Sunrise Cocktail will be a go-to cocktail whenever you are having thoughts about visiting Chucktown AKA Charleston, South Carolina.
