The Joe Rickey Cocktail is said to be one of the oldest cocktails in the nation’s capital. Bourbon or gin is the traditional main ingredient in the Joe Rickey. The D.C. Craft Bartender’s Guild established July as the Rickey Month to honor Col Joe Rickey.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup (2 oz.) bourbon
- 1 ½ Tbsp. Key lime juice
- 1 Tbsp. Simple Syrup
- 6 Tbsp. sparkling mineral water
- 1 Key lime slice
Steps
- Fill a rocks glass with ice. Add bourbon and next 3 ingredients; stir gently.
- Clip lime slice on glass. Serve immediately.
