Good evening whisky and cigar aficionados, today, we paired the Sheep Dip Blended Malt Scotch Whisky and Boulevard Havana, Cuba No. 2 cigar. The Sheep Dip Blended Scotch Whisky is a whisky that’s basically a blend of up to 16 single malt scotch whiskies with the 3 main whiskies coming from the Highland, Speyside, and the Islay islands of Scotland. With the 16 whiskies that were used to make Sheep Dip, you have an array of flavors that have been blended to create a captivating whisky.
As far as the Bolivar No. 2 Havana, Cuban Cigar goes, it’s actually an authentic Cuban cigar that I purchased last year whilst visiting friends and family overseas during the Christmas holidays in 2015. The Bolivar Cuban cigar is a medium-bodied cigar which measures at approximately 5 inches. The ring gauge is 42 and the wrapper is medium-dark in color with a firm texture.
The Sheep Dip Blended whisky was slightly smooth on the initial taste with a spicy-bite to the tongue. With the initial draw, I experienced a smooth and flavorful cigar. Once I followed the cigar flavor with the first sip of water, a bond was immediately created between the Sheep Dip whisky and Bolivar Cuba cigar. As the whisky had a smooth taste with a bite, the Bolivar cigar helped to balance out the spiciness of the whisky. When I added a few drops of water, the Sheep Dip Whisky definitely opened up a lot more and the flavor was smoother with less bite and spice.
In conclusion, the Sheep Dip Blended Malt Scotch whisky and the Bolivar No. 2 Havana Cuba Cigar made an excellent pair and they complemented each other. I would recommend that both whisky and cigar lovers give them a try and see how you like the two together. Please go out to Loversofwhisky.com and let us know what you think on the pairing.
