The Dignitary Lounge, D.C.

The Dignitary Lounge, D.C., is where you feel like a dignified man-about-town or a well-to-do gentleman.  When you hear “Whiskey, whiskey, whiskey,” you listen to words that bring many smiles.

I was pleased when I came across a whiskey cocktail lounge called The Dignitary in our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.  The refinement of the bar and leather chairs created a sophisticated atmosphere of being a part of the in-crowd.

The Whiskey is the focus point at The Dignitary Lounge, D.C., located within the Marriott Marquis in downtown D.C. The hotel also took steps to ensure bourbon drinkers make The Dignitary their cocktail lounge of choice when visiting Washington, D.C.

The bar created a bourbon program to introduce a cocktail competition to the city’s mixologists. The mixologist created a unique bourbon cocktail for The Dignitary. The competition is for bartenders around the D.C. area to develop a signature cocktail for the bar.

The current mixologists/bartenders employed by the Dignitary Lounge would decide on the cocktail.  The winning cocktail would be featured on the summer menu.  Also, the winning mixologist gets to stay at the Marriott Marquis Hotel the same night.

The mixologists have submitted their entries to the bar through the first of May 2015. The Dignitary Lounge’s three bartenders will be the judges to determine the cocktail competition winner in the District of Columbia (D.C.).

The bar has whisk(e)y and scotch flights that showcase their distinct brands of whiskies. The bar will host major whiskey brands on special nights, so this would be an excellent time to check out a new flavor for your taste buds.

Additionally, you can join the “Bourbon Dignitaries” during the bourbon quiz night on the 1st Wednesday of the month.
